Another Longchamp Surprise!

Just around a couple of weeks ago, I shared with you how elated I am with Longchamp’s preview of its upcoming 2011 Spring/Summer collection and with Longchamp’s collaboration with Selfridges for the Play bag.

Before anyone could even grasp the idea that new designs for Longchamp bags are underway, Longchamp surprises us with, yet again, another set of eyecatchers—the Limited Edition LOVE bag and Jeremy Scott’s Limited Edition ‘Tire Tracks’ bag.

We all know that aside from being famous for the success of the Le Pliage bag, Longchamp is also widely known for its distinctive collaborations with notable designers, brands, and organizations.  This time around, they collaborated with LOVE Magazine, the newest “most controversial” fashion magazine available!

Love Magazine is a product of the vision of Katie Grand, a British fashion stylist, fashion journalist, and editor-in-chief of the magazine.  She is well known for her success with Dazed & Confused Magazine in the ‘90s and Pop Magazine in 2000.  In fact, she was named by British newspaper The Daily Telegraph as "one of the most powerful stylists in the world"

Love Magazine is biannual fashion magazine based in the UK launched only in 2009.  It is only published twice a year, so the anticipation of the readers is always very strong.  In spite of its young age, LOVE Magazine has established its position in the fashion industry as a “magazine with attitude”, veering away from the typical glossy pages and mainstream fashion of Vogue and the likes.  Here are some of the strikingly strong covers of LOVE Magazine since its inception:

With all of this game-changing magazine’s façade, and contents, of course, Longchamp has celebrated its mutual affection with LOVE magazine through the LOVE bag.  The bag was inaugurated last October 27 at the Longchamp Madison Avenue store with Longchamp hosting the party which had guests including Uma Thurman.  For your viewing pleasure, photos from the party can be seen below.

According to Katie Grand, “I wanted to create something super light so you can carry a lot of stuff…I’m always carrying a gym kit with me so it has to be practical, and it had to be pink as it’s my favourite colour. Longchamp bags are incredible and I’ve particularly admired their collaboration with Kate Moss.”

The LOVE bag is an ultra-limited edition bag which is available ONLY in Longchamp New York boutiques, Paris, and of course, Longchamp de Manille.

On to Jeremy Scott’s latest collaboration design with Longchamp…  

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a review of the sneak peek of Longchamp’s upcoming Spring/Summer 2011 collection.  It was rumored a few weeks ago that the new Jeremy Scott Tire Tracks design for Longchamp will be included in the Spring/Summer 2011 collection, but it turns out that the Tire Tracks will be currently released for the Fall/Winter 2010-2011 collection.

For this bag’s design, Jeremy Scott drew his inspiration from the busy streets of New York City.  Notably, the Tire Tracks design is actually a fabric designed by Jeremy Scott which can be seen in his past season’s collection, particularly his Spring/Summer 2008 collection.

Another stunning bag added into Jeremy Scott’s line for Longchamp.  Bravo for hitting the bullseye!  The casual color and design is perfect for daily wear or even for travelling!

Jeremy Scott’s Tire Tracks design for Longchamp will be available in selected Longchamp boutiques worldwide starting mid-December.  BUT, as your ever-reliable bag fairy, Longchamp de Manille will be making this bag accessible to all Longchamp lovers starting TODAY, and the bag will be available for shipment to you by the 4^th week of November.  Also, we’ll be having some Jeremy Scott Tire Tracks bags on hand for those who are not able to preorder, but availability is not guaranteed since Jeremy Scott bags usually get sold really fast.

  

This surprise from Longchamp during the last few days of the year will definitely be added to my Christmas wishlist for Santa, and I’m sure you’ll be on the same boat as I am.
